stl2step is an AI STL to STEP converter. It turns triangle meshes back into the faces a designer drew (planes, cylinders, cones, spheres, tori and B-splines) and sews them into one solid you can open and edit in any CAD program.

- An online service that converts triangle meshes into STEP solids with real CAD faces, using a neural network trained on CAD parts.

- STL, OBJ and PLY meshes, up to 150,000 triangles and 50 MB.
- Outputs
- A STEP (ISO 10303) solid; a JSON report of every face with its surface type, parameters and fitting error; PNG previews.

- 97.9% of faces and 99.2% of the surface area recovered on 200 real CAD parts never used in training (benchmark).
